Maryanne McGuckin, Dr. ScEd, MT (ASCP), President      mcguckin@hhreports.com

Dr. McGuckin is the founder and President of MMI which was established in 1984. She has had over forty years of experience in infection prevention as faculty and staff of University of Pennsylvania, and most recently was a member of the Senior Scholar / Senior Fellows program with the Jefferson School of Population Health at Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia.

In 1998-1999 she was a visiting researcher at Oxford University, UK and in 2002 a faculty exchange professor at Katholiecke University, Leuven, Belgium. Dr. McGuckin’s specialty is infection control and hospital epidemiology.

Dr. McGuckin created Partners In Your Care, a hand hygiene program which combines monitoring and patient empowerment and is used in several hundred hospitals. Dr. McGuckin served on the 2002 Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) task force that developed Hand Hygiene Guidelines for Healthcare Workers and was a member of the World Health Organization task force on developing a global patient empowerment model.

Dr. McGuckin is highly regarded in the medical field and has been a featured speaker at medical seminars and scientific meetings such as the CDC, Joint Commission, Association for Professionals in Infection Control and Epidemiology (APIC), and Society for Healthcare Epidemiology of America (SHEA).

An accomplished author of countless original and peer-reviewed articles, Dr. McGuckin’s work has appeared in such publications as the American Journal of Infection Control, American Journal of Medical Technology, Journal of the American Medical Association, The New England Journal of Medicine, Infection Control and Hospital Epidemiology, The American Journal of Infection Control and Epidemiology, The American Journal of Surgery and The Journal of Urology.

Dr. McGuckin is an expert source for national print and broadcast media including The New York Times, The Washington Post, Dateline, 60 Minutes, and MSNBC News. Dr. McGuckin is an alumna of the University of Pennsylvania.

John Govednik, M.S.   govednik@hhreports.com

John is the Program Manager for MMI's reporting and training programs, and an Analyst and Training Director with Analytic Business Services, Inc's pharmaceutical and biotech line (AnaBus).  An educational director, researcher, and faculty, he is a past National Directorate Board member of the ACPA Wellness Commission, and has developed health policies for university faculty, administrators, and students at the local, regional, and national levels.  John has written for AJMQ, ICHE, Infection Control Today, and has presented at APIC, IDSA, SHEA, and many regional hospital and healthcare associations in addition to his work with university associations.

Richard Waterman, Ph. D.

Richard is President of Analytic Business Services, Inc. (AnaBus), a quantitative research consulting group with experience in pharmaceutical and biotech industries, government, and finance/private sectors.  He has over twenty years of corporate consulting experience. Dr. Waterman is an Adjunct Associate Professor for the University of Pennsylvania's Wharton School of Business MBA program.

John L. Guinan, BS

Jack is Vice President of MMI and financial manager.  A Villanova alumnus, he has over 40 years of experience in banking, business development and management.

Maryellen E. Guinan, JD

Maryellen is the developer of the Buddies Hand Hygiene Program. She serves as our health policy and regulatory assistant.  She is a past research coordinator in the Department of Health Policy at Jefferson Medical College, Philadelphia, and was an extern at White and Williams law firm in Philadelphia.
